About Our Farm

At BCG Goose Farm, we take pride in raising our geese through natural, healthy, and sustainable methods. We don’t use commercial feeds; instead, we mix our own feed twice daily, ensuring a balanced diet rich in niacin to promote strong legs and healthy growth.

Our farm sits 250 feet above sea level, so clean water is essential. To provide this, we hand-dug two 40x40-foot lined ponds where our geese can swim, bathe, and exercise. We also installed a second well that draws from natural underground springs, giving our flock constant access to fresh, high-quality water.

Our Brown Chinese Geese are purebred, they originated from the Guangzhou region of southern China, a climate much like central Florida—warm, humid, and mild year-round. Our geese roam freely in large outdoor pens with ponds and shelters, and at night they rest on southern pine needle bedding, which offers comfort and helps deter predators.

Goslings begin life in a temperature-controlled baby barn, kept around 100°F with fresh running water and raised floors for cleanliness. After about six weeks, they move to outdoor grow pens with access to feed and water; on cold nights, the pens are enclosed for protection. Adult female geese are often placed with younger goslings to guard against predators like owls, hawks, and coyotes—a method that has proven highly effective.

For customers in northern climates, we recommend providing dry, draft-free shelters with fresh water and quality feed during winter. While Brown Chinese Geese can adapt well, proper housing helps them stay healthy, comfortable, and productive year-round.
